Fitting the Splint

For optimal effect of the splint, equal retention of the splint among the teeth is important. Therefore, it is important in the first treatment session to examine the retention of the splint.

To reduce the retention, the plastic material must be ground away. To increase the retention is impossible – the splint must be replaced.

During the fitting of the splint, the retention on every tooth must be checked. The level of retention and protrusion are automatically assessed through the custom-making of the splint.
