TAP®-Appliance
The TAP®-appliance uses two single splints which can be used separately, or connected to each other. The appliance is able to shift the lower jaw up to 22mm, and enables a sideway shift for an optimal result.

This further development of the TAP®-appliance also uses two single splints. The TAP®-T appliance is semi-fixed and thus will stabilize upper and lower jaw.

The Lyon-Positioner is not a splint and works different. It is a single block of silicone that fixes upper and lower jaws in a predefined position.

S II plus Positioner acc. to Prof. Sander
The two elements of the positioner are separately attached to the lower and upper jaw respectively. The more the mouth is closed after applying the SII, the more the lower jaw will be shifted forward.
The S II has to be combined with a positioner, an elastic chewing and training device, which must be applied each morning after using the S II in the night.
